Does anyone else feel like they missed something earlier in their lives which meant that they ended up somewhere they weren't supposed to be?

The turn of phrase is delightful, but no. I'm rather more convinced it's about me, rather than the trouser leg. Which is to say, There does not exist (this is a statement in the mathematical sense) a trouser leg which is the right one for me.
If I thought the other, it would be too painful. Therefore I must not think it, as pain is to be avoided as much as possible.
